2010 Picanto 2 ::5450 miles on clock. Automatic.
Last 170 miles with journeys ranging from 2 miles to 10 miles.
Returned 34 MPG.
How does this compare with other owners automatics?

A lot depends on your driving style and the nature of the journey. Ironically, small autos never do all that well in town and your one sounds about right to me.

Over 16,000 miles, mine has recorded:

Best: 46.85mpg
Worst: 34.27
Average: 39.91

These figures are from brimming the tank and recording the fuel used - some of my trips are circa 100 miles on open road / motorway. Around town only, I get 34ish, open road 40+ mpg.

We have the orginal Picanto 1.1LX and it's normally returning between 38~41 on average.

The highest ever observed was 46MPG and it has been down as low as 32~33 but this may have been due to impending Crankshaft Pulley Bolt Failure...

40MPG is a decent average figure and fairly realistic for a small automatic.

My mums last car - a Mazda 121 got between 28~32MPG on average!!!

Right now I'm driving a 2013 Dodge Challenger and it gets better MPG than the little Mazda 121!
