In the Vehicle Settings Menu, there is an option called "Auto Triple Turn" setting option. What the heck is it? It is not in the Owners Manual of my 2012 Optima (Standard Transmission).

I would think it is the option of just touching the turn signal and getting 3 flashes.

Nope. Changed to OFF and there is no difference with turn signals when just touched

I would agree with njerald on the tap to turn/signal.

As I said above, on change on the tap Turn Signal, option On or Off

Our sportage does that. Tap the blinker and you get 3 blinks.

Not sure why it's not working for you though OP.
