The backside of the center console is just begging for a couple extra 12v outlets to be added.

Has anyone attempted this mod? I'm pretty good at following directions but not so good at exploring and creating this mod on my own!

12v

I would also be interested in some responses as far as wiring goes, preferably to keep the 12v hot while car is turned off. I had completed a mod on a different vehicle a few years back and used a razorblade and hole-saw drill bit to fit the outlet snug into the back of the middle console. It was super convenient and very useful.

Did it. One inside two on the back.

Take a look here
It is in German
Installing an additional 12v socket in the compartment under
the center armrest
KIA Sportage III, R, SL, SLS

use google translate, for example.

instead of inside the armrest you can put them in the backside.

In the fuse box i used this part

"add a fuse"

Hi Rene',

Where did you buy this "add a fuse"?

seeya Harry
You can buy those at most auto parts stores. In Canada I have bought a few from Canadian Tire, Part Source probably has them too.

For the USA, I would think AutoZone would have them as that seems to be the USA version of Part Source. Pep Boys or O'Reilly might have them too.
