Hello I downloaded a manual for rebuilding my ad6 in 2004 kia rio but the manual sucks,Does anyone have a fsm or technical manual who can please tell me what it says to do for proper break in for these engines,I have looked for proper break in on engines and I have never seen such mixed opinions on a subject as half say drive it like you stole it too seat the valves and the other half say keep rpm down and slowly work the rpms up and don't rev it high therefore the only solution is too do what they service manual says to do,Sorry to waste your time but its very important please hel if you can or if you have rebuilt these and thank you.

you're going to get different responses from pretty much everywhere you look.

in the past with engines i've rebuilt i've run them hard for a bit then immediately changed the oil and checked compression to make sure the rings sat.

just my opinion though. i wouldn't treat this any differently than my old mitsus. iron block aluminum dohc head.
