Hi, I'm a new Kia owner and new to this forum, I have spent many hours reading through the various posts regarding upgrading the in car audio, but none really answer my question.

Due to financial restraints I can't really afford to replace the whole system or add applifiers, but really want to do something just to add a little depth to the tinny sound, if I just do a straight speaker swap would the sound quality improve at all ? And what watt/impedance are the factory installed speakers ?

I have searched all technical info and can't find any information about the head unit output or the wattage/impedance of the factory fit speakers.

I have a ce'ed 3 2011 plate.

Many thanks.

New speakers apparently make a fair difference mate, the stock units don't even have magnets, so lord only knows how they sound as 'ok' as they do.

If you go with 4ohm speakers and at least 80W RMS power handling you'll be fine.
They're 6.5" / 165mm speakers, there's a good guide to changing them at the top of this forum (audio upgrade part 1)

Good Luck & keep us posted mate :)
