My friend is looking at replacing his Audi estate, and was looking at a 2.2 Renault Espace, The Race. Well he found a site called Peach or Lemon and looked up what people said about them the result make some pretty nasty reading even for us Sedona owners.
Peach or Lemon

Considering they are buying a premium product where to buy an equivalent version of my SE sedona would have cost about £26000 rather than £18000 or so that mine would cost new.

Hello Pepper,

You do come up with interesting sites.

I seriously looked at the Espace 2200 before I brought the Sedona, having owned a Scenic.

Good Grief!, I may nearly have bought a lemon.

Sedona came out sort of OK.

I would have loved an espace but they were out of my price range. I understand the spares and repairs are extremely expensive. but remember people only go onto forums if they have a problem, and the espace review I read by someone who had the side impact air bag blow up when he was parked and blew the drivers window into pieces.

200,000,000 ford escort owners have not all said "our car is great" a handful have made complaints.

my sedona is great since the ECU was changed although there still is the thing with the stereo (I am sure it is a summer thing) and the clicking wheels - which the garage could not hear?

The Sedona reviews will stay ok on that site, as long as all the members from here don't go posting over there.

loud stereo and windows shut.

I feel 200 million was an exergeration although I do no think it impossible that 200,000,000 people have in fact bought ford escorts I had a T reg (197?) escort mark 2 with 4 previoius owners and I sold it on. and had no real complaints apart from the biege colour of the bodywork had faded so much it didn't match the biege colour from a spray can.

Hello Clartsonly,

I wasn't picking, I was surprised at the numbers.

Yes I agree, mostly reliable and repairable but I always thought the
wiring looms were a bit iffy but apart from that OK.
