I believe that was with Sonatas and it WAS a camber/caster issue resolved by some new parts on a new model year car...They did drag their feet on that one...
KIA's QC has been quite good on cars since 2004.5 ...so a bad plunger switch isn't too bad... That switch could just be out of alignment also as was just marginally set...A little change in temp or weather and out it goes...
We (wife.myself, kids) have KIAs and Hyundais and have yet to have any major problems with any of them other than what they were bought with (3 salvage, and 1 used). I corrected the initial problems and they have been more reliable than ANY car I have bought in my 63yrs..
The Sonata pulling problem showed up here before KIA knew it was one... One of our posters went throught the dealer warranty attempts and finally took it to an ACE mechanic that does alignments. He found the problem made hardware corrections on the top tower and made suggestions on modifying the parts for others...KIA then came out with a "kit" that allowed the expanded range needed to correct the problem..
Stick around and you find some of the BEST KIA men anywhere... We have KIA mechanics, parts managers, and even some really great salesmen that are regulars here... This forum started when KIAs were looked upon as questionable and "throw away" cars...We stuck together and now KIA and Hyundai will meet and excede the quality of the Japanese makes... And value wise beat them...
