Did you put these tires on for off roading or for snow? I'm planning to put these tires too once my OEM's are done and so is my winter tires.

It would save me the money and hassle of chaging them twice a year.
TBH it was mostly just so the vehicle would look and act the part - seemed incredibly silly to have low-pro 20" all seasons on an AWD that's supposed to be soft-road capable. It's come in handy on one muddy field so far. We don't get a whole lot of snow down here, but when we do get even a little it's extra bad because they don't know how/don't have resources to prepare and clear roads like in the places that get snow regularly. So that's a nice bonus.

We've used them in snow at Lake Tahoe, and they did well. Also used on a beach at the ocean and it was no trouble at all.

That's good to hear. A buddy of mine had the same all Terrains in his Jeep gladiator. It did pretty good on snow but he's 4x4 and its a mid size truck. He barely had to put it in 4WD on snow.

I'm pretty confident it would do good in snow. Since our vehicles are AWD anyways. Thanks for the replies!

Anyone cross shopped an AT tire vs. an All Weather tire for their Sorento?
Looking to order a set of snowflake rated tires for the fall, considering either the Michelson Cross Climate 2 or go with a light AT tire such as the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail. May go with a 245/50/20 to have a bit more sidewall so my wife doesn't curb the rims lol.

Are the Michelin Cross Climate 2 the best all season tire out there? I've been hearing the Pirellis are good as well.

Yes ......... BUT
Best All-Season Tires - Consumer Reports
According to Consumer Reports, Michelin tires generally rate at the top - but within the category of "Best All Season Tires", they have slight variations for Performance, SUV, etc. For each of those categories, click on "See All Season XXX Rating" (at the bottom of a brand) and you'll find additional sub-categories of:
Dry Braking
Wet Braking
Handling
Noise
Hydroplaning
Snow Traction
Ice Braking

Based on those ratings, you could very well find that some other brand is the right one for you - such as Continental, Pirelli, Falken, etc.

Myself? Considering all those categories, the one I like the best is Kumho Crugen HP71. It is very good to excellent in all categories, but THE BEST in Noise. When it comes time to buy new tires, I'll have to see how available this brand is in my area.

In case anyone is wondering, picked up the BFGoodrich Trail Terrain TA Tires for my 22' Sorento X-Line. So far the road noise is non-existent compared to the stock tires. My local tire shop price matched Costco so the price was a lot better compared to the WildPeaks.

looks nice! How’s the gas mileage with those?

Went with some Nitto Nomad Grapplers stock tire size since Discount Tire didn't have 245/50R20s in stock.
So far so good. Added a few pounds at each corner, and you can feel it. Definitely have more confidence driving these in wet roads and been doing good on gravel. Even got to test it in a bit of snow, hence all the salt on our Sorento at the moment. Road noise is just a tad louder than stock tire. Pretty happy so far.

My son said these Nokian Hakkapelleta SUV's were money, in todays 8-12 inches of snow in metro Denver.

Vehicles stuck all over. Our side streets don't get plowed, so you have to be able to get to main roads on your own.

Even, better, $200 on Craigs last fall.

Note the nicely packed brake calipers.

Are those Sante FE wheels? Tires look good! Those are one of the best that you can get!

Yes. In hindsight, I should have just looked for a good clean set but I bought tires from A, and rims from B, and wanted to get them all done. The rims weren't too bad, but they had clearcoat chipping, and I'd sand and fill and prime, find more spots, repeat. About 10 times total, of sand, prime, repeat.

What's amazing to me, is 2013 wheels are the same size, same offset.

I took a gamble, bought TPMS sensors off Ebay, had them program them and they actually worked right out of the box.

I gave my tire guy the set of nearly new tires that came on the rims for his labor to dismount and mount and balance 8 tires, I thought that was a good trade. Tire guys out here up to $35 a wheel to change snow tires. So two trips in a year to mount/dismount justifies a used set of wheels you never touch again.

Paint was from Lowe's. HD's colors were meh.

Gentleman, looking for advice, I’m hoping you might be able to help. I have a 2023 Sorento EX with stock suspension (don’t plan on lifting or lowering) and I’m looking for an aggressive looking AT tire. Current tire size is 235/60/18, I previously had BF Goodrich KO2’s on my Taco and I really liked how they looked and performed. What size tire and wheel can I fit on my ‘23 EX without any significant rubbing? I’d also like a bit of an offset on the wheels so the tires stick out a bit for a more aggressive stance. Thank you in advance for suggestions.

255/50R20 or 245?
2021 Sorento Prestige X here. I put on 255/55r20 Scorpions and the screws for the front wheel well trim were in the way. Trimmed back it doesn’t seem to rub now (although I am driving very carefully lol). Hoping to find a 20mm spacer kit for the front to give myself a little more room. It should also look and attack better when leveled. Hopefully.🤣

245/50/20s don't rub. I had heard ppl mention the 255s did slightly, so I went down a size.
I was looking at 245/50s but the only issue is that most tires in that sizes load rating is 102/103. Did you have any issues with this setup ?
Any issues running 255/50/R20 size tires long term? I'm shopping for new tires and as much as I'd like to downsize to 18" don't have the budget to buy new wheels now. So thinking to go 50 sidewall instead of stock 45 to improve the ride comfort a little bit

Other than a slight rubbing of the front tires if you really hold the wheel in a very tight slow turn, no issues so far, and I'm 3-1/2 years into using these AT tires. The rubbing is only when the wheel is held extremely tight to the left or right, but doesn't occur with normal turning, and even when it rubs it's a very slight rub. Cannot see any area on the tires or the interior fenders where the rubbing occurs, so I take that to mean it's rare and inconsequential.
