I have an air bag light on. Is there any way to find out what is causing this outside of taking it to a dealer?

I had occasion to remove the passenger side front seat on my 03 Sedona a while back. Underneath the seat there is a plug and socket that I had to unplug to remove the seat. At the time I had no idea what the plug and socket were for but after I removed the seat I noticed that the air bag light was on. I would check this plug and socket and make sure that it hasn't come apart or that the contacts are not corroded. I believe there is one under the drivers seat as well. I think anything else would be beyond your (certainly mine) remit and needs a visit to the dealer. Dealing with airbags can be dangerous as they don't half come flying out. Okay if you are in an accident but can cause injury if set off acidentally.
