Hey everyone!

I've recently just purchased a 2013 Sportage Platinum Diesel, and hoping to have the same level of success in changing over the satnav like the rest of you did!

As I'm an Aussie, I'm a little confused with all the different car terms being throwing around (LX,EX, SX) Do I have an SX?

I've done a little research and it appears that I need a Cambus to keep the rear camera/sound/steering wheel controls? I'm no engineer/electrician and hoping to get "all the answers"/"get all the parts" before I start.

Since this is my first post, I'm unable to post links. Could you please have a look at the one I'm looking at below, and advise if it's going to suit my needs?

Thanks for your time!

This is mine in my Sportage. I set up my Garmin next to the In-Vehicle Multimedia System as I was on my way to Cape Town (South Africa) and all my previous visits etc was on the Garmin and there were no "visited" addresses saved in this system. I took this photo with my mobile phone in the dark, so not the best picture. It is android and also make use of the iGO Navigation system. It works very well and you can even change the remotes on the steering wheel to whatever you want. It includes Navigation, 3G, DVD Player, Video Player, Bluetooth (and this one does shows the caller's name etc), iPod play back, Digital TV Interface (depends on your country) and you can even browse through pictures. It plays mp3 on CD, DVD, USB & SD Card. It has a small onboard memory card to store maybe photos or music. (I think it's 8gig).
The biggest problem I have is that I lost (stolen at car wash) my UPD (system upgrade SD Card - it have two SD Card slots) and I just cannot upgrade the navigation software. I went to KIA, Port Elizabeth and they could not assist me and only redirect me to the manufacturer.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice my friend :)

Only issue I may have, is that I think I have a different connector type based upon this photo:

Here's some photo's I took of it:

Has anyone had any luck converting something like mine? I feel like I've got the odd one out. Alternatively, has anyone tried to put the 2016+ head unit into a Series 3?

Thanks in advance everyone :D

Hi All,

So it turns out the unit I have is a LAN8900. Apparently these ones are much harder to convert over to an aftermarket head unit than the LAN3110. You can tell them apart without taking the radio out, by looking at the knobs. Striped knobs means you have a LAN8900. I've attached a photo of my head unit for reference.

The search continues, I've contacted Smarty Trend:
smarty-trend (dot) com/home/414-kia-sportage-2010-2014-android-car-stereo-navigation-in-dash-head-unit.html

and Seicane:

Hopefully they can provide some assistance. Shame couldn't use the cheap ones off Aliexpress. I've done a search and couldn't find much in the way of LAN8900 replacements. Mods/Anyone let me know if you're interested in following my journey, if I'm posting in the wrong area or have any suggestions.
