I would love to know if anyone has information on this. I am hoping that all the wiring is in place and that the remote merely plugs into the steering column... otherwise we would have to run the wiring all the way to the stereo which would be considerably more work!

If you check out kiatechinfo.com they have some schematics for replacing the audio remote, but I'm not sure if my van didn't come with the remote if the wiring is there or if the radio supports it.


Any thoughts?

 

Alright, I have called several dealers around Central Florida and the answer is that the LX has a different radio and wiring harness then the EX and that it cannot be done without switching all that out which would be very expensive!

I recently added remote steering controls to my EX, the controls come as a 'kit' comprising the buttons and a short loom that relaces the existing loom that connects the cruise controls, after changing the very short loom under the air bag the wires at the radio become active.
I am using an aftermarket radio so i donnot know if the original radio would have had remote control or not.
but the actual change of the buttons and loom took 1/2 an hour at the most

Can you post the part number and prices?

 

Sorry i did not keep the invoice with the part number, but the spares guy had no trouble finding or ordering the part.
The cost was just over $100.00 AU about $102-$105 i think

 

Alright, I have called two different dealers who have said that for my particular 2010 Sedona LX the part number is 967104D900DP and it's about $20. They said there are about 10 different remotes available so they have to look it up based on your VIN.
