Hello everyone;
I have a 2026 Sportage, I wanted to create a thread about this year to see if anyone has any tips tricks or short cuts to some neat features.
Here is a picture of mine. 2026 Sportage HEV AWD SX Prestige. Shadow Matte Gray.

Just got our 26 SXP a month ago and still lost as to how all the driver assist & safety bells and whistles work. This car is probably great for a techy 20 or 30 year old, but trying to understand that encyclopedia of an owners manual when your over 70 puts me to sleep. Hey Kia, how about some Kia produced YT videos as to how to use this rolling computer.....................

I don't have a 2026 KIA Sportage, but we did buy a new 2025 KIA Sorento EX. This too has several videos and u-tube videos to review. Instead, I read the owner's manual underlining the important information for my needs.

One Item I don't use at all nor did I want but it was standard in the package of the EX was the Navigation package. We use Apple Car Play with the maps that our I-phones uses. We have been using this system since Apple car play was available on our old 2021 Sata FE.

The Apple maps provide real time updates on traffic and route information as needed. Several times we have been on either I94 or I80 in the Chicagoland area and have been routed off due to traffic jams/accidents. This would not happen using the factory installed maps.

We have had the factory nav package on our 2011, VW Jetta TDI and learned from day one that the maps were outdated at least a year old when we purchased the car, even after purchasing the updated maps from VW these were still outdated compared to our phones.

All of our data is entered into the I-phones and is displayed with turn by turned directions via the information screen in the car using apple car play. To me it is much simpler to use the I-phones than the NAV package from the factory.

Just saying

Here's some tips I found for my 2026 Sportage Hybrid EX:

1. Chill Self Driving / Auto Pilot with Comma.ai (Comma 3x), amazing to say the least!

2. The 2026 Kia Sportage (except for the PHEV) features a dual-level cargo floor that allows you to adjust the height of the cargo area for increased flexibility. The cargo floor can be set in a higher or lower position, depending on your storage needs. I use higher (which is about 5 inches higher), so I can hide all my hiking gear stuff and tools, and leave the cargo space empty!
To use the dual-level system, you simply lift the cargo floor panel and reposition it into one of the two available settings. High position: When the floor is in the higher position, it creates a flat loading surface, which is useful when the rear seats are folded down. It also provides a hidden storage compartment underneath for valuable items. Low position: The lower position provides several extra inches of vertical space, allowing you to fit taller or bulkier items.

3. Need a Dash Cam? This fits like an OEM behind the center mirror cover, WITHOUT any needs for cabling or power! Look for FITCAMX. Super convenient!

4. Faraday Bag for the key fob. If you don't have DigitalKey2, but can still open or close the door via Kia Connect, this is helpful for whenever you don't want to carry your car key/fob, or if you want to leave your car in a parking lot for family or friends to pickup later, when you are not around. Put it inside of the bag (which blocks the FOB signal) hide it inside of the car. When you or the person arrives where your car is at, just open the door via the phone, get the key out of the bag, and you (or they) are good to go!

5. Center Consoles Organizers (see pictures, real must haves!) I can provide links if needed.

How did you get Open pilot on the 2026 Sportage as it's only supported on the 2023. Daughter has it and I wouldn't mind having it too as the LKS/LKA system on the Sportage is pretty crude and does allot of strange things.

First of all, I'm not in a hurry I drive the posted speed limit I set my cruise control and let it go. The highest speed I ever did on my trip was 55 miles an hour and I was going up into and down from the mountains in north Georgia. I never try to drive the hybrid like a race car if I would have wanted that I would not have bought a hybrid. I don't know how to change my re-gen brake settings so those are set for factory. The only setting I have activated is the baby mode setting for smoother ride. So far I like everything about my hybrid I have no complaints! 😁

Thank you! I also drive the posted speed limit, except I can't go 55 mph in the Los Angeles freeways... or else I will get shot, lol... But I do try! I don't have ups and downs, everything is flat, so I try the best I can to glide, and every time I turn on the car, I set auto regenerate on, which does a good job detecting when I am in the freeway and glide when there is no one in front of me, or when I am on the streets. It regenerates very well! (if I you don't know how to set it to auto, let me know, but you have to turn it on after the car starts, and you can also use the shift pads to set the strength of regeneration)!

With all that, I am getting between 37.8 and 38.9... I will keep trying! Love my car as well!!!

The speed of traffic on LA Freeway is 80 MPH give or take, as long as traffic is flowing. Of course a lot of the time it is crawling or worse. But, there are plenty of hills and mountains if you go just a few miles. I lived in the San Fernando Valley for 35 years. There was a lot to like. Traffic was not one of those things.
