Any updates in the last month? Have a family road trip coming up over Christmas and I'm worried about taking my car at this point. My dealer can give no information.
Start the car with the door open, then close the door while it is still dinging. It works every time. Also, before I learned this trick, we drove to Alabama from SE Florida with the light on without any problems. I have had my coolant changed, but it made no difference. If I start the car after I close the door, the warning stays up.

I have an appointment for next week to flush the inverter cooling system with a special tool designed for this issue and they will refill with the new BSC-2 coolant as a permanent solution. This is the plan at least.

FYI - I have had this same issue off and on over the summer. Checked the reservoir a couple of times and it was always full. With the cooler weather in Michigan it was less often. But a few weeks ago I had the notice pop back up again a few times and was conditioned to ignore (which I did). However, when I got home I notice that a fan was running which had never happened before. Looked under the hood and sure enough, the reservoir was empty!

Kia service figured out there was a leak in the invertor radiator and changed that out along with a flush and new fluid. Seems to be fine now, although temps are in the 30's, so it may resurface at some point.

Anyway, just a reminder to give things a look under the hood every once in awhile. The warning could be legit!

I was at the dealership today. They have flushed the system and refilled with the new BSC-2 coolant.
As I only saw the error in hot weather, I can only test the solution in the summer.

still having issue with (refill inverter fluid ) message after engine is hot! Has anyone heard of a fix for this annoying display. Dealership still has not come up with a resolve.

I have been in contact with my dealership and anything they have tried has not been a solution.
1. Flushed fluid
2. Changed fluid and color
3. Replaced reservoir pump
All to which resulted in warning light coming back on while still full ? My light is starting to come on more frequently when engine is hot? Usually after atleast 1 hour of driving. Very annoying !!!

I recently started doing this and it HAS WORKED EVERY TIME! I'd still like a true fix instead of this workaround( and you'd think this workaround would lead Kia engineers to a fix) but at least I've got my display back.

Looks like they came out with a tech bulletin to fix this issue. It has a step by step process to address this issue and claim it’s a permanent fix to address contamination and fluid conductivity.

I've also been experiencing this issue for months now. Drove the car across the US without issue but in Florida now with the low temperatures during the day being 70s and higher, see the warning light all the time. I will try the workaround of starting the car with the door open and see how that goes. Also taking it in for 24k maintenance and will see what the maintenance people say regarding whether a fix was made available yet.

I agree with the sentiment that the warning light being a false positive all the time means when it's reporting an action issue, you'll have no idea. Given that risk, I hope someone with experience working with lawyers can find a way to get some level of reimbursement out to first hand owners. It's unreasonable for it to be 2023 in a few days with still no real fix and many people spending wasted money on "solutions" offered by their service centers. At the least, people should be reimbursed for those damages.

Some update from KIA dealership from the EU:

They called me back as they filled the reservoir with the wrong coolant. They used the new BSC-2 but according to them it is not the correct one for the HEV models. For the PHEV models use that one.
They replaced the coolant to a pink one.

Update, according to my dealer, KIA has now released their own SB which mimic’s the one from Hyundai. After the flush and change in coolant so far the issue has not turned.

Just had the service bulletin performed on our 2021 Hybrid EX with 29,000 miles. Nice new pink inverter coolant now. Not warm enough this time of year to get the heat soak issues to trigger the “refill” alert. Time will tell.

Took my MY2021 Sorento PHEV to my dealer in Norway. They told me they are aware of the issue and that the solution is to flush the system with a new coolant, which is not currently available in Norway. They did not specify the type of coolant. They also said they expect to receive (but have not yet) a special piece of equipment from Kia to flush the system. They said they would have these in a few weeks and would call my vehicle for repairs in a few weeks. I am not optimistic given all the reports of similar failed solutions on this thread, but will report back if there is a development.
My vehicle was recalled as previously mentioned. The coolant was flushed and replaced with the new type. Initially we had an issue due to air retained in the system which set off a bunch of other sensors, and I had to take the vehicle back in to top up the coolant and remove excess air. It has been a couple of weeks now without any refill inverter coolant warnings. Even though it is deep winter here I frequently experienced the warning before the recall even in cold weather, so I am cautiously optimistic the issue is fixed. I will report back if it occurs again.

Dakota,

You wouldn't happen to know the exact SB would you?

Hi from Germany. I had the same issue with the coolant warning. The coolant was replaced and after that the warning did not come up again. However now the coolant vanished and the repairman
did not find a leak so far.... Interestingly we sometime have a strange noise (herar attached zip file). Does anybody here ever had a similar noise? Could it come from a coolant pump not properly working. Thank in advance for answers.
