My husband was following me home and as I arrived home I opened the garage door and started to back in. My husband out of habit the hit his garage door opener causing the door to start closing as I was backing in. The garage door hit just behind my shark fin antenna and slid into it before I realized what was happening and stopped. The shark fin antenna was lifted slightly off the roof of my car. We tried to push back down but the roof just buckles.

I am trying to figure out how to reattach the shark fin to the roof and if I should worry about it being waterproof or not. Also, could it come off altogether? It still seems to be pretty solidly attached.

Mine is a 2017. I read that thread. Mine is intact, even the rubber gasket is still attached. Roof seems smooth, no screw holes I can see or feel under the back end that's lifted up to the middle of the fin. Should I just leave it? How hard can you press down without denting the roof. Also I have a full sun roof, so I'm not sure it's attached the same way.

I forgot to mention. My oldest daughter did the same exact thing to her 2020 Forte. But the damage was worse and required the entire roof skin to be replaced.. Because it was around the Covid period. She had to wait for the new roof skin to come from Korea, so she was without her car for nearly 5 months.
