I'm leasing my 2018 Sorento SXL, my family and I are ski junkies, so winter tires/wheels are a must. Of course my first thought as usual was to go to Tire Rack and find some cheap compatible 17" wheels. But I ran across a set of wheels from a 2016 Sedona (17x6.5) with TPMS sensors for $250. The TPMS sensors aren't a big deal, but if they work without taking the car back in and paying for a reprogram, great bonus.

My concern is brake caliper clearance, everything else will be fine. I have the 19" wheels and the spokes flare out slightly, where the Sedona wheels don't seem to have that same flare, they are more flat. Long shot here, but has anyone tried the 17" Sedona wheels on a 2016+ Sorento? Would be a great affordable winter setup if they do fit. I won't be able to return them if they don't fit, so I may have to use spacers, but hoping to avoid that.

Thanks!

On a side note, I did read another thread on here while searching that talked about someone doing the opposite of me (using Sorento wheels on a Sedona) and they were told the Sorento wheels wouldn't clear the Sedona calipers. So that's encouraging, but before I pull the trigger, I'd like to give it a couple days to hear from other people.

I'm no expert, but it does appear that the 2018 Sorento L and LX come standard with 17" alloy wheels. All the 2018 trim levels have the same brake rotor diameter (12.6" front, 12.0" rear). The higher trim levels have painted calipers, but the calipers don't appear to be physically different.

The 2018 Sedona, which should be the same as any 2015-2017, has 12.6" front rotors and 11.9" rear.

So the next concern would be backspacing/offset. The Sedona lower trims come with 17"x6.5" rims with 49mm offset. The Sorento's are 17"x7" with 47mm offset. Check the image I attached to this post for a full comparison.

Long story short, I think they'll fit just fine.
