Several years ago my 2017's radiator fan started going full speed for no obvious reason (i.e., driving conditions didn't warrant it). When I got home and turned the car off, the fan was still running continuously and did not shut off....
I "cured" it by tapping on the fan relay located in the under hood fuse box with a screwdriver. i.e. pretty much a dead giveaway the relay contacts were stuck (as in sort-of, but not completely welded) shut. Rapping on it with a screwdriver released them.
I gently pried the plastic housing off of the aforementioned relay. Yes, the relay contacts were in bad shape, heavily pitted, and lots of carbon around them. I cleaned up the contacts with a file, reassembled the relay, put it back in and all was well. Drove it that way for quite some time.
The markings on my relay were: KIA 39160-37110 DC 12 V 50 A OMRON LLIB. So OMRON is the mfr.
Buying it from Kia seemed ridiculously expensive. I bought a new one (exact same p/n) for $4.99
