Call Kia with your VIN and confirm if its subject to an engine recall, and if it is you'll need to get documented evidence of all the servicing (doesn't have to be serviced by Kia).

I would use a reputable independent service shop for the labor, and get a price for a rebuilt engine from Kia and third party suppliers.

Dependent on mileage you can also decide on a short block, or a full long block.

Awesome! Will do. If there is not a known recall, is it better to go with a non-Kia Service Center for any repairs?
