as I like the front, the rear windows are too small - just like Hammer...

I would guess 6 speed A/T and 2.4 GDI for the new generation, optional engine 2.0 turbo maybe.

my thoughts - certainly be 6 speed AT, with the optional 2.0L engine that is going to be available in the new Forte (replacing the current 2.4L optional unit) which puts out nearly the same HP as the current 2.4L engine in the Rondo with perhaps the 2.4L GDI used in the Optima as the optional engine.

Agreed, especially seeing as how the new Rondo is a Forte platform, instead of the Optima platform like the last model was.

The Cee'd shares the same platform as the Hyundai i30, as does a redesigned version of the Cee'd, marketed elsewhere as the Kia Forte, which is not sold in Europe (except for Russia, where the Cee'd and the Forte are available together).
Not quite the same I guess, but they do share a very similar platform.

yes, the new Carens is using the new Cee'd platform which will give it a 50 mm or 2" longer wheelbase than the old model bringing it up to 108.3" (2750mm). The new Forte is 2700mm or 106.3"

It sure wasn't at the NAIAS in Detroit. I looked at all the KIAs there.

This would likely be the next vehicle I get if they bring make the 6-spd manual available. Otherwise, it'll be the Mazda5, but I really like how Kia's feel compared to Mazda.

Hard to say. I did ask the sales guy and he said at first it's not likely, but last week he emailed me saying there is a chance that Canada may see a manual Rondo. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm sick of driving automatic and I will be getting a manual for my next vehicle, but it would need to be at least a 6-seater and basically, my only choices in Canada are the Mazda5 and Chevy Orlando. Of course, when the redesigned Skyactiv Mazda5 comes out, I may end up liking that one. But regardless, no manual means I won't be getting the new Kia Rondo, which I have to say I really like. :(

you can get a manual in the Orlando, but odds on it will be extremely difficult to purchase, as I doubt dealers will stock it.

I would be extremely surprised if the Rondo comes with a manual. The market for manuals is very small - 5% or less. You can manual shift the auto if you want too. I've driven manuals for over 35 years, but not anymore.
