Were you able to remove the lightbulb? Definitely do that to keep the battery from draining. I looked at my own car and I was unable to find an external switch so I think that the trunk open switch is inside the lock mechanism. When I get more time I will open my up and see how to fix it.

The orange wire and the brown wire are the wires that give feedback to the car if the trunk is opened or closed. You can use a multimeter to check if the switch is the problem. I simply put a screw driver through the lock mechanism to close it. A used OE part is the way to go for something like this if you determine that the switch is bad.
