I purchased a 2013 Sorento SX V6 today. During the paperwork stage, the salesman told me that I will be charged an additional $495 for an active&passive alarm system. I have no idea about it. Is it something different than the standard remote anti-theft alarm system?

Thanks,
Edward

The key fob and panic button are not the same as an anti-theft system.

FYI: All sorento madels come with keyless entry and panic button.

not sure where the OP is located but in Canada the immobilizer system is standard on all KIA's.

An active alarm could be an after market feature, but still you need to find out what it is and does before you pay for it and they can't put it in without your okay, or get them to take it out or give it to you for free.

Mind you its a bit late asking us online when you are signing the paperwork, if you don't know or don't agree, don't sign.
