Hi all,
So I have the dreaded white smoke on start-up and I want to replace the head gaskets before it becomes bad enough to cause real damage.
Does the rear head come off with the engine in-situ?
Is there any good online guide to this job?
Should I replace anything else while I do the head gaskets? I will replace the valve stem seals while I have the head off. Worth changing the water pump? Timing chain tensioner?
Is there anything equal to/better than OEM gaskets?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot in advance

I suggest that you PM @DavesSpectra to get his attention, and he can then reply here.
