I've been researching and wanted to know what's out there for mods besides hid's and window tinting custom exhaust etc.

I was looking for a short shifter and vinyl overlays for the orange reflector on the headlight to black it out.

I'm not sure where to look for information about modding the rio and what's currently available and compatible between accent and veloster any help would be great thanks!!

Take a look at TJ85 . . . he has looked into or accomplished most of what can be don. I have seen a custom on the blackout of the orange somewhere here.

The guy in the US used normal vinyl over the orange bit on the headlight. Apart from baking open your headlights to install the updated LED module to replace your orange things the only other option is buy a set of the International version headlights.

Vinyl option is the easiest without having to do any work at all besides cutting out a template. Others have used a headlight tint too.

Short shifter you will have to wait. The Rio is still in its 1st year for many countries with only a handful heading into their 2nd year. The closest options to short shifters are any from the small Hyundai/Kia range that has a manual. The Soul and Veloster may have some already out there if you dont want to wait. Same transmissions and Kia like to do what VW do; every model shares parts.

Check TWM to see what is available for short shifters.

If you have a 5 door, exled has a full car package that you could take advantage of. Everything has LEDs..hence their company name, but most should be plug and play. Wiring is required for places that don't originally have lights, of course. Like the rear reflector.

would be helpful to us, if you could fill out your location and drives profile on the left so that is shows up with each posting. This is a worldwide forum and vehicles are not equipped the same from one country to the next. It makes it that much easier and quicker to answer a question when we have this information - thanks. :)

Not sure how that involves me as I didn't ask a question...I gave a suggestion.

there is a bunch that would need wiring.. like in the doors and the demon eye etc.. lots of wiring not plug and play for most.. except the interior lights
The headlights would be plug and play (as it comes fully installed with the devils). The tails would be plug and play. The interiors, obv. The other stuff, yes, you would have to figure it out. Basically, the bulk of the purchase would be plug and play. The DRL function may get deleted, but that would be a somewhat easy fix.
