I just took delivery of a new 2013 Kia Picanto. The day I brought it home it was raining and I put it directly in my garage. When I looked at the underside of the car about a week later I noticed that a few of the suspension components were already showing rust. Here's the parts showing surface rust: steel band holding CV joint boot to outer CV joints...lower ball joints where it connects to steering arm. I am concerned that if this rust continues it will cause damage. I plan to sand off this surface rust and apply a anti-rust coating and then paint it with black enamel paint. The rest of the undercarriage and suspension components appear to be well protected from rust and have been properly coated with paint or rust proofing. Has anyone else noted this rust problem with a new Picanto?
