I lost one of my key fobs for my 2012 Kia Optima. I need a replacement. Can anyone tell me where to go to get the best deal on one? The dealership quoted me like 280 bucks--this seems crazy. Any help would be appreciated
I lost both of my keys (don't ask how) on my 13 optima turbo. It was towed to the dealer and ordered a new key. Now they tell me they can't get it to program and may have to replace the anti theft module. Has anyone heard of this?
Look on the back of your key fob. there will be numbers on there. You need to buy a KIA key fob that has the same numbers (example can program one originally for a Sportage for an Optima even though they can look the exact same). If you buy one online good luck at least 50% don't work.
Also you will still have to pay to get the key programmed at a Kia dealership. (about $50).
And to the guy that lost both key fobs. If the dealership cant get them program it sounds like their problem. If they are saying it is not covered under warranty let me know.
