Hey I have a 2011 Sorento LX, 4 -cyl. Does the timing belt (chain) need to be changed?

You have a timming chain. Don't call it a belt, it will just confuse people. The chain does not need to be replaced unless there is a problem with it.

Only Honda and Toyota still use engine timing belts, your Kia has a timing chain. Even the timing belts need replacing very infrequently, and your timing chain should be good for the life of the engine.

If you're unsure about maintenance items, just take a look at your maintenance schedule. The timing chain replacement is not listed because it is not a preventative maintenance item.

Just enjoy your ride, its very low maintenance!
