I have a 2010 1.4 Rio with manual transmission (UK model) that makes a grinding/rattle noise when reversing.
Original diagnosis was that the reverse idler gear was faulty, so they replaced it. Then found that the reverse gear itself was damaged, so replaced that too.
Rebuilt the gearbox and road tested the car and the fault is still present
Anyone heard of similar problems with this model?
Aparrently it's currently awaiting approval from Kia to rebuild the gearbox again with further new parts, although the dealer seem to be very unsure as to what the root cause is now.
