Thought I'd post this... Always good to hear comments. :)

I've got a 2012 Kia Cerato.

I've been searching for a cheap way of getting the dash brighter.
I've tried going to the local KIA shop, but that optioned proofed to very expensive to get a dimmer switch.

On the internet, there are a number of people complaining that when the dash dim, it makes the clock and radio too dim to read. It must be night before you can read it. Local law requires lights to be switched on when it is raining/rainy. This means you can't read the display as easy.

The dimmer switch cables are present, when removing the cover. It appears that only a new plate and dimmer switch is needed. And for this they want to charge me more than $200

Taking cue from the socket the plug, plugs into. This is what I deduced.

Pink - Power (don't use)
Gray - Clock
Gray - Instruments and other switches.
Black/White - Power (dimmed)
Black/Red - Power (full)

Still have to figure out how to get the radio to change brightness.

Using this, a simple 2 direction toggle switch can be put from the black to the gray cables to select full power of dimmed.
As luck would have it, I have the perfect switch for this job. Small and black.
