Hi all.

I recently had, what I think is the cause, a chip on my left-hand side mirror paintwork. However the paint itself is not chipped, only the protective "gloss" coating on the plastic mirror housing. This damage has propagated to the entire surface area of the mirror housing. The original paint is now exposed to the elements and want to fix this as soon as possible.

Is this damage repairable by any means? I have no knowledge of motor paints to any degree and the local automotive shops are absolutely useless.

Appreciate any feedback.

What you need is a clear coat filler or you need to buy a clear coat touch up stick and use a cocktail stick to apply it.

The brush with these touch up pencils apply far to much liquid to the surface.

You can get a UV filler that dries clear and is the best but it has to be warm and sunny for it to do its thing.
