In my 2008 Optima (4cyl, ex) the horn works when I lock the car from the remote but does not work when I try to push on the steering wheel.

Am I safe to assume that the horn itself is ok (since it does blow when locking the car) and I have a relay or fuse that is bad?

Thanks for the input,

Rich

There was a recent recall on a large number of 06-08 Optimas for the clock spring. Did you recently have yours replaced? If you did not have it done, or don't know if your car needs the recall, your local dealer can tell you. You will need the VIN number. It could be a way to get your horn fixed for free.

The "horn" you hear when you set the door locks (alarm) is a totally different from the one activated by pressing the steering wheel. You may have a bad horn relay, bad horn, blown fuse,or as above a bad clock spring. I'd bet cobra259 would look up your VIN to see if it was/is involved in a recall. just pm him here...He's a good guy.
