Hi guys. Our 2006 Carnival developed a habit of not turning over the starter motor (everything else was in start mode, so all good there) about one in forty turns of the key. We got over this by removing one of the gray four pin relays (which i replaced in case it was that but it wasn't) and hot wiring it (top right, bottom left) when it refused to start. Unfortunately no one seamed to know what it was so we kept doing that, annoying but what other choice did i have. Now it is every time so i need a fix please.
Regards,
Barry

Now, I am new to this forum, and I don't know a great deal about the Kia (Grand Carnival) yet, but, this sort of thing used to happen with the Ford Falcons, especially the EB to EF's, and it was to do with the Body Control Module (BCM). These used to develop dry joints and has to be thumped to facilitate starting. I don't know if Kias have a BCM, but if they do, that may be the problem.
