Hi, new to the forum, however not to repairing this sorento. The latest problem is the engine will stall at low idle, and has presented some knocking (can't reproduce the knocking consistently though). No CEL, I am thinking it may be a clog in the fuel pump. I looked up on kiatechinfo.com how to remove the pump however I ran into a snag. The bolts that mount the pump to the tank are headless. They look like the flat side of a rivet. I removed the evap valve and was able to get my little finger in the tank through the hole and could feel on one of the bolts that there appeared to be a nut and a threaded stud on the other side. Short of drilling these things out, I'm not sure how to remove them. Any help/suggestions? Drilling makes me very nervous on a fuel tank and reinstallation becomes and issue too.

Interesting, you are absolutely right. I wonder why it is different than the tech manual. I looked up the 2007/8 model procedure and it is exactly like the setup on my '05.

Thanks.
