I have a 2003 Kia Sedona. The emergency brake handle broke while the brake was engaged. Handle broke at the shaft. How can I disengage the brake temporarily?

Thanks for any advice.

Figured it out myself. Under foot pedal, there is a metal plate that you can pull towards yourself. This disengages the brake.

Had the same problem and figured it out also like you did....:) My problem now is how to fix the broken handle.I was able to put the handle back and is functional again but is just hanging out and not fixed in it's place. Were you able to fix or replace yours? I've been looking for a surplus brake handle but can't find one.

Thanks.
