Hello,
I have a 2003 Kia Rio (RX-V) which seems to have had the alternator belt die on it, which took out a hose on its way (resulting in gunk being sprayed all over). I just bought this car a week ago for $1350, and would like to know if it will be worth it to have repairs done, or if it is easy enough to attempt a diy repair. Keep in mind that I also have a 2002 Rio sitting in a lot with a dead engine (good old timing belt failure), so it may be possible to save on parts by scavenging from it.

Please see attached pictures.

That's the AC compressor pipe that came off and spewed oil.

You could install a new serpentine belt and all should still work with the exception of the AC.
