I have driven this vehicle for about 4 months now, has 101k miles, put a new engine in when I first bought it, the one thing that I am puzzled about is that at 70 mph the engine is running at around 3000 rpms. Maybe that is normal for this vehicle but 3k seems high to me. The auto trans seems to works normally other than taking a mile or so on cold mornings to shift into fourth gear which, after reading other posts here, apparently is normal. The car hums along on the highway and seems to be happy running at this rpm level for long periods but it has me wondering, thought maybe the torque converter lockup clutch was not engaging. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Test the T/C lockup, run at 45 (the T/C should lock), gently apply brake light (no brake effort), you should see and feel T/C unlock... Philip
