To remove the center console, remove the ash tray and the little knob on the air exchange. Next, where the ash tray was is a screw. Remove that screw.

Now, using something thin to help get a grip, start prying the console away from the rest of the dash. There are simply plastic tabs that need a little pressure to pull away. Don't force it, and try to apply even pressure on both sides of any tabs as you pull. If you have a very small and thin screwdriver, you can push against the tab to help, but it shouldn't be necessary.

After that, you'll have 4 screws to remove to remove the built in stereo. In terms of installing a new one, the installations vary based on what kits you have, what stereo, what wire harness, etc. If you haven't ordered a stereo, I highly recommend Crutchfield, as they include step by step instructions for the entire installation. The kit and wiring harness are also included for free, which if you have to buy them else where would run about $25 total.

I just ordered a stereo to replace the one that got stolen out of my car. I'm getting the Sony CDX-F5510 from them. If you look on DealCoupon.com, you'll see that if you enter the promotional code "PA166", you get an extra $20 off of a $100 order.

Good luck! I'll have a better memory of the install process once I do it later this week.
