I just paid my registration but I can't get my tags because I need to have my Rio smogged. Buuuutttttt... I can't do that because my check engine light is on. She doesn't shift on time occasionally and she jumps sometimes. O2 sensor?? I really need some advice...

How many miles on it? How much service has been done? The O2 sensors can start acting up at 100K or more, and the catalysts don't seem to last much more than 120K-130K. Or...you may simply need a fresh set of plugs or wires. Get the code read at autozone and see what it is indicating, then go from there. The shifting and jumping may be transmission issues, and may even be the reason for the check engine light. You should change the filter and replace fluid every 60K miles on a Rio automatic. Timing belts should be done at 60K miles too.
For service info register at kiatechinfo.com (free) and all the repair manuals/owners manuals are there. All the codes and troubleshooting guides as well.
