Hi all.

Looking for some help. I have a 2001 Sportage with 49000Kms on the clock and am extremely peed off with the heavy fuel consumption.

On the open road at a steady 3500 rpm / bout 120km/h this unit gives me about 8.7km's / lt which translates to about 24mpg.

I read all sorts of reports of 31mpg etc but cannot get that. I have had it at the agent several times and he says everything is A okay.

Any tips or ideas from anyone on how to try and improve this situation.

Greetings to y'all now.

Is this a gas or diesel Sportage?

If gas, 24 MPG is excellent mileage. You'll never get 31 MPG unless you drop it off a cliff with the engine shut off. I typically get 21 - 23 MPG.

If diesel, I don't know.
