I was leaving work and as I was driving I almost got hit so I put the car in neutral and hit the brakes to avoid getting hit. When I did this the car died on me. When I went to start it back up it would turn over but not start, what could be the problem?
I'm not sure if the 01 Sephia has an inertia switch like the Spectra (mine 06).
On my car on the left side strut tower is this switch that will activate on an extremely HARD brake. There is a rubber boot that you push in to reset it.
It is designed to cut the power to the fuel pump in an accident but I have read where just dropping the car off of a jack can trigger it and a hard brake situation may also cause it to trip..
A timing belt may sometimes break or jump if it is old (over 60k or 5yrs).
The Sepia has a non-interference type engine and should not have engine damage if it breaks or jumps...it just won't run...
