I have acquired a 2000 Kia Sportage in pretty good shape. I am interested in modifying it a little to use as a off road trail type vehicle. Some of the changes I want to make is larger aggressive off road tires, front and rear steel bumpers, small winch on front, LED light bars, top carrier. Plan on using it more for show than really rough rock crawling and such. Hope to at least make it nice for rough dirt roads and driving National Forrest roads and fire lanes. Any ideas as to parts sources???

Check out 4x4 wire. They have a Kia Sportage sub forum with all the information about how to modify. Lifts, wheels, etc. a lot of it is US based so Very relevant to you.
they are a great vehicle with a lift and decent tyres will get you just about anywhere.

cheers, Chris

Hey Chris, Thanks for the info on 4x4 wire!!!!
There's a few other US based sources, upyourkia.com will tell you and sell you the parts needed to get a 4in suspension lift under there. These little cars were built for competing in the Paris-Dakar and Baja500 Rally's, it was the first vehicle to ever finish both races.
