Hi everyone,

Thanks for the help with how to get to the rear speakers. Job took awhile but I eventually shoe-horned my old 4-way Pioneer 6x9's in there (reciprocating saws rock! :)

Anyway, I want to upgrade my front speakers now, and if history holds true for cars in general, the door panels are going to be VERY easy to break (especially since I see only 1 real screw in each panel, inside the handle). So, before I start prying until it either pops off or breaks, I thought I'd see if somebody out here knows how to remove the panels cleanly to get access to the front speakers.

The car is a 2000 Sephia, manual windows and locks. What has to come off first? Where are the clips/fasteners all located? Any tricks or special tools needed (like, does the window crank need to come off first, and if so, how??)? Any special directions I'll need to push/pull?

Thanks in advance!

Take the window crank off first.
then the screw in the holder thing there in the door.
then when you open the door there are 2 screws on the bottom of the door. there is also one on the siide of the door.
then there is a screw in the inside door handel.
you wil have to remove that piece that covers where the mirror is on the inside. it should come off now.

Thanks, but how does the window crank come off? Is there a certian way it needs to be lined up? Is there a cap and a screw under it somwehere? Do you just pick someplace and start prying, or what? I don't want to break it and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way it is attached. Thank you in advance!

I'm looking for specifics -- I've broken door panels before out of ignorance and I'd rather not break these,

if you kinda push the door panel in right around the crank you will see in there (tough to see) a clip. there is a tool you can get at the parts store to remove these. without the tool its kinda tough without scratching the panel. I hope this helps this is preaty much the only way i can think of to explain it! for the crank. if ya need other help with other directions i said just ask em.

OK, I saw the metal pressure clip and manged to get it off with minimal scratching using a real thin screw driver to pry it off -- thanks! Door panels already have some scratches on them, so no big loss.

OK, I've gotten the two screws at the bottom of the door off, the one on the side, the 2 plastic screws near the hinge facing the interior, the one inside the bottom of the door "cup" you use to pull the door shut, and the popped the little cover off the one in the door opening handle itself and got that screw and the plastic trim piece off.

So now I'm down to clips, right? Or does that cover over the mirror control need to be removed first? I tried pulling and it seems really fastened well. What's next? Thanks!

That piece over the mirror is just clipped in there pull it off it comes off tough and bends but it will be ok.
the rest of the door should pull off now. you gotta kinda pull up and then out to get by the window sill.
