Took the Sportage on a 1000 mile jaunt last weekend. It seemed slow to reach speed and lost speed on most inclines. Is this normal or should I look for other problems such as O2 sensor or a clogged cat since it wouldn't rev past 4K rpm's. BTW it is an automatic and my gas mileage was just over 24 mpg.

Thanks in advance

Has the check engine light come at all? Even if it turned off the problem is still logged in the engine computer.

No check engine light has come on (while running) since we've owned it. I understand there was a running issue (not specified) before I bought it. I've added some fuel injector cleaner and will wait to see if that helps. I will admit that my daily drivers are much lighter (2800 and 3300 lbs) and have more HP (200+) so it may just be a perception problem. Just hoping that I don't have a plugged cat.

Thanks again,

Dennis
