09 Kia Borrego console removal

The shift knob just pulls straight up and off, but it is hard to do for the first time. I put some silicone grease on when I replaced it so it won't be so difficult next time. Put the shift lever in a position lower in the shift gate so when it does come off, you won't ram your hands into the dash board. I used plastic pry tools to remove the console cover so not to scratch it. It just pries off. Start at one spot and move down each side prying just a little at a time until you get it off. It just snaps back on when you're finished.
