Hello,

P0301 and found lots of oil in spark wells 1 & 3.
Changed cover gaskets including gaskets for each well, wiped code and drove 60 miles next day.

Next day, p0301 is back for cylinder 1. Oil in there again. It can't be the seals. Am I looking at valve guides wear, so a cylinder head job is in order?

Thanks!

No, oil is leaking past the gasket and into the spark plug well. Not good. Pull the valve cover again and perhaps add some RTV to the surface around the spark plug well, both sides of the gasket. Dry everything first. Thin bead, not heavy. Retorque per specifications. Don't leave the oil in the well. Either swab it out with paper towels or suck it out with a shop vac. Do not crack the spark plug and let the oil drain into the cylinder. Hydra-lock will occur and you will be buying a new engine. Let us know if this helps......
