Like title states, I have an '07 Rio LX w/ base CD player. It has no auxiliary input. I'd like to look into getting a used stereo out of an '07+ Rio that has an auxiliary input for my iPod and that would directly connect to the existing wiring harness. Any thing like this out there, or am I forced to get an aftermarket unit?

Just get an aftermarket unit

Doesn't look like that's gonna work. Any newer head unit that's got aux port, usb, etc. from a newer model has a different wire harness altogether.

See the attached pics

First one is our '07 unit second is 09+ with aux.

Aftermarket head unit is going to be your best bet. Installing an aftermarket unit is pretty easy actually. I just installed a GPS unit in my 07 Rio. Aside from the metra frame kit not fitting my obscure Canadian unit there were no issues doing it myself.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I'll look for an inexpensive aftermarket stereo now.

Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead...

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify the factory stereo and solder in an aux-in?

My 2007 Rio stereo looks the same as the above pictures.
