Replacing thermostat in my sportage 4cyl. Couldnt find any videos other than a v6. Found the housng, drained coolant. Took everything apart, found there was no thermostat installed previously. Putting thermostat and gasket in. Seated thermo seemingly correct. After putting everything back and filling up coolant. The housing leaks pretty good when running. Any tips?

That year should be the 2.0L just like the Spectra. If you find a video for that, then you'll have what you wanted for your Sportage. I'd offer, but our Spectra and it's accompanying repair manual reside 65 miles away now.
Hate to say this, but if it's leaking, you'll have to go back in and recheck your work...yep do the job again, hopefully the housing, stat and gasket are OK on re opening things up to check.
Good Luck :)

After redoing everything, ive found that the studs themselves were not tightened down and the housing on both sides (the side that attaches to hose as well as the part attatched to engine) has cracked in multiple places. Im thinking it could have been damaged from overheating often over time. Found the cause of the leak and a whole new problem. Thanks for the help MIA
