Hi there,
I have a 2006 Kia Rio with nearly 200000 Km (120000 Mi). I just had the wheel bearings replaced last week and it had been driving as if it was new again. I drove to work yesterday no problem, but when I started to drive home I get a very loud moaning/grinding sound (I think coming from the front left wheel). The noise stops COMPLETELY if I turn the wheel right to negotiate a corner. Just wondering what this could be, and if it could be the wheel bearing. I took it to a respectable mechanic who has a very good name so I can't imagine they did shoddy work.
Could it be the CV joint? There is no clicking associated with this noise.
Thanks,
Richard

It sounds like another bad bearing. Maybe they preloaded incorrectly or the axle nut is too loose/tight?
