Hey Guys,

Can anyone tell me if I can fix a squealing A/C compressor pulley on this car.
I believe the compressor is fine , it just makes a god awful screaming noise whether the AC is on or off, worse when it is on. Is it possible to pull the pulley and maybe replace a bearing if there is one. Or is it a new compressor only kind of fix.

Thanks in advance,

Robert

You can replace the clutch hub, the pulley, and the field coil separately. The hub can be found online for around $50 bucks and the coil will be around $45. Not sure about the pulley cost. I don't think your problem is the coil but you can test it with a multimeter. The problem could be the clutch hub and is a very simple repair without needing to remove the compressor or even the belt. The pulley is fairly easy to remove once the belt is off. Just a pair of snap ring pliers and a pulley puller should do the trick.
