Hi guys,

Looking to crack into my '01 Sportage's gauge panel to fix some bulbs; however I've never removed anything myself. Considering the labour costs are...prohibitive at this time of year, I was considering a DIY job.

How does one...go about removing the gauges from this model? Is it a whole dash removal, or is the plastic trim around the clear lens supposed to just unclick?

Model is an '01 [maybe '99 given gauge layout;tachometer, speedo, fuel/temp gauges from Left to Right] Sportage, right-hand drive [if this matters!]

Greetings,

On the US model here, IIRC, the trim facia is held in w/ spring clips, but check carefully, there may be a screw or two holding it also.. ( If using a tool inserted between the trim & dash pad, just go gently and if any resistance, check to see if there is a screw present, to prevent breaking.. )

Once removed, the gauge cluster unscrews w/ 4 or 5 phillips-head screws, just pull out carefully and disconnect the block connectors, at the back of the cluster.

(Above is for the US-model Sporty here,)

Hope this helps & Happy Holidays,
GottaCruise
