Automatic trans.
i thought should be around 8 - 8.5 sec

Over 9 sec for V6 engine it's a bit slow, no?

My old sportage 2.4l 2011 AWD auto was doing 9.6 / 10 sec

Not sure but looking at consumer reports I think they got 7.2sec 0-60 time for the V6. They get their cars right from a dealer so that number should be good. You should turn off the ESC and give it some brake torque before launching it. Have you tried manual shift mode? I haven't seen 0-100km numbers but they will always be a bit longer than 0-60mph. I'm also wondering if your car has a different transmission, final drive ratio or engine tuning that would result in a different result than a North American car,
What I have seen is that the v6 is faster 0-60 than the turbo but they are virtually the same from 30-50 and 50-70 times. It's a heavy vehicle and it's not going to be super fast from a dead stop.

Even Consumer Reports got 7.4 sec. 0-60mph for V6 AWD

Car & Driver reported 7.2 sec. 0-60mph w/ 2016 Sorento V6 AWD. I recall a 6.9 sec. time reported by some tester for FWD. All domestic Sorento's are 6-speed automatics.

will give a try with manual shift mode and brake torque, but don't think will make a difference as it will shift up automatically even if you don't manually.
ESC was off
It is indeed heavy vehicle, not expecting it to be super fast but not over 9 sec for sure
100 kmh = 62.2 mph difference is 2.2 mph a half of second maybe

If consumer reports got 7.2 i should get no more than 8 sec

I read somewhere that Consumers Reports does a rolling start on those tests. I use an OBD 2 box (remove the fuse panel on the left side of the steering wheel and just plug it in) and the Torque App on my Note 2 phone on my EX v6 (17" tires, 18" might do better?) and usually can get it in the mid to high 8 seconds range from a dead start while holding it back a little with the brakes. I used "normal" mode and automatic transmission mode. "Sport" mode was actually slower for some reason. Quarter mile is around 16-17 seconds depending on the wind. :)

Never timed our 2.4L LX - would likely need a calendar instead of a stopwatch.
actually those 2.4 with short ram or cold air intake in NA engines have good gains (i know the sorento 2.4 is gdi)

they gained 10hp 10 tq. i have a 2.4 forte thats why...

at least there's extra oomph.. maybe you can try
