  1. 2.0 will not start

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
Did you check to make sure the butterfly in the throttle body is moving, and that the TB is not obstructed? If fuel, spark, and compression are as good as you've posted, then the only thing left is not enough air coming in.
  2. P0019 Code - Crankshaft & Camshaft Bank 2 Sensor B

    2014 - 2015 Sorento Forum
Normally good advice, however the OP previously wrote: 'I am trying to resolve this P0019 code on my own as money is tight. I have a friend who can assist me with any recommended repair advice.' So, working within those parameters, I was making an attempt to see if we could start a conversation...
  3. P0019 Code - Crankshaft & Camshaft Bank 2 Sensor B

    2014 - 2015 Sorento Forum
With a 5K OCI, unless you do almost exclusively very short trips or stop-and-go, it's highly unlikely there's sludge in the engine. How has it been running while the CEL is on?
  4. Replacement engine for a 2013 Sorento

    2011 - 2013 (XM) Sorento Forum
So you would sell a Land Rover engine to a Kia Sorento owner? How has that worked out for you so far?
  5. P0019 Code - Crankshaft & Camshaft Bank 2 Sensor B

    2014 - 2015 Sorento Forum
My choice would always be to test first, in order to try to find out exactly what the specific problem is before hanging on parts, and that's what I'd suggest to the OP of this thread.
  6. P0019 Code - Crankshaft & Camshaft Bank 2 Sensor B

    2014 - 2015 Sorento Forum
So you tested them, and both were failing to operate properly?
  7. 2016 2.4 engine in 2014

    2014 - 2015 Sorento Forum
Did you try taking it to a Kia dealer? Unless there are unusual circumstances, the engine replacement for your vehicle should be covered 100% by Kia (including a paid rental for you to use until the engine replacement is completed).
  8. o2 sensors not responding

    2003-2010 Sorento Forum
I used to visit a forum which required that a post be 10 words or more, and that would have been really annoying for the OP of this thread to have to deal with. But OTOH, this was probably posted while the OP was driving, so best to keep it as short as possible.
  9. 2002 Miss-firing and running poorly ???

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
Ok I obviously fell into the old trap of thinking the CEL had just come on, without asking for a confirmation. So based on that, I'll retract what I said about this being an electrical problem. Take the codes one-by-one, starting with the t-stat as GottaCruise already said.
  10. 2002 Miss-firing and running poorly ???

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
Interesting - the newer ones I've seen have multiple layers, with the fuse/relay section at the top separated from the lower connector section(s), and they have to be somehow pulled apart. But I don't know your vehicle, and you're hands-on, so I'll of course trust the report of what you're seeing.
  11. 2002 Miss-firing and running poorly ???

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
Yes, but be advised that some lower quality meters don't do too well testing A/C voltage on a D/C circuit. If it jumps around, then your meter isn't going to work for that type of test. Also, AFA your post on cleaning the fuse box - what you did is fine, however the corrosion is more often...
  12. Sedona 2008 Overheating F.P

    Kia Carnival & Sedona 2006+
It sounds like coolant is being lost so fast that you can't keep it topped off, and then it overheats. But that's just speculation based on what you wrote, so you need to describe exactly how fast and how much coolant the vehicle is losing. And it's also important to mention if you ever see...
  13. 2002 Miss-firing and running poorly ???

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
Here's the DIY load test I use, which doesn't require anything other than a multimeter. I found it online quite a while ago, and have had consistent results over the years using it on my vehicles. Other people have different ways of doing their load test, which may give helpful results as...
  14. 2002 Miss-firing and running poorly ???

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
I'd definitely do a load and ripple test. There are multiple ways people do the load test - I can post the one I like to use, or you can find various testing procedures online as well. Given the age of your vehicle, the fuse box is certainly another candidate suspect as well. It's very...
  15. 2011 Sorrento cranks but no start

    2011 - 2013 (XM) Sorento Forum
Although you're obviously pleased it's running now, that was certainly not the expected result of using starter fluid. Lawnmowers and generators yes, but it's not supposed to work that way with modern cars and trucks ;) The underlying problem is likely still lurking and waiting to strike...
  16. 2011 Sorrento cranks but no start

    2011 - 2013 (XM) Sorento Forum
Try spraying a small bit of sensor safe starter fluid into the intake. If it starts up and runs for a few seconds on the outside fuel, then it's most likely a fuel delivery problem. If not, then it's a spark or compression issue.
  17. 2012 Kia Sportage wont start

    3G 2011 - 2016 Sportage
So each of those 4 times it eventually started. What exactly did it take to get it started? Exact details about this are important.
  18. Starting and running weird.

    Kia Soul Forum
If it were mine I'd start by testing the crank sensor wires.
  19. 2002 Miss-firing and running poorly ???

    1G (1993 - 2002) Sportage
IMO an electrical issue is the root cause of the problems with your vehicle, and going from running well to suddenly having performance issues along with multiple, unrelated OBD codes is the smoking gun. I would start by checking and testing the charging system, and then move on to the fuse box...
  20. P0501 code

    2G (2006 - 2011) Rio & Rio5
P0501 is a vehicle speed sensor code, and should have nothing to do with ABS. How is the vehicle running, and are the spedo readings ok?
